1) Partridge River. This is the Black Bay Channel. All species of fish can be found here. The region is an ideal pinch point for fish traveling to and from Black Bay as water temperatures change. This is a good place to try fishing for large northern.
2) Black Bay is among the best early season crappie and walleye fishing locations on Vermilion.
3) Black Bay Peninsula Trail. Three mile loop through picturesque forest, along lake shore and around active beaver pond. Dock and trail head located at day use shore lunch site.
4) Lake Vermilions Norwegian Bay North shore lunch site with dock.
5)Square rock island is a great land mark for acres of rocky structure holding a variety of fish, especially smallmouth and walleye.
6) Osprey nest between Fire and Goodwill islands. Excellent landmark known to all who frequent Lake Vermilion. A weed edge running from Osprey Island west is a great summer walleye location.
7) Wakemup Bay is the largest basin on the western portion of Vermilion. This is a great area for viewing birds all season with greatest numbers and variety appearing in the spring and fall.
8) Turtle Island is a Wakemup Bay landmark. As active eagle nest has been on the island for decades. The shoreline and surrounding structures hold strong walleye and bass populations.
9) Norwegian Bay South shore lunch site with dock and remote lunch site on point to south west of dock without dock.
10) Wakemup narrows provides a variety of shallow water habitat types. The water warms up early resulting in good spring fishing.
11) This region of Wakemup Bay is a deep flat which can hold walleye all season.
12) The whole region behind Treasure Island is a shallow weed flat frequented by northern and muskie.
