The spectacular chalet is a grouping of four gorgeous townhouse-style units, all under one roof. The Grand Vermilion Chalet is perfect for family reunions, retreats, and business groups. While this building is modern and grand, great care has been taken to blend it with its historic resort surroundings. Its architectural design retains the feel of this classic Minnesota resort.
The walkout level houses a gathering/meeting space with excellent lighting, TV, A/V equipment, casual seating, banquet tables/chairs, and a catering kitchen, as well as a spacious outdoor patio with barbecue grills. The main floor sundeck features a 360-degree outdoor gas fireplace and plenty of space for your group to spread out and enjoy each other's company.
Each unit features vaulted ceilings, lake views through two-story glass, an indoor gas fireplace, central-air, and a streaming capable TV. The Chalet may be rented in its entirety for 12 bedrooms, or in two, four, or six-bedroom increments.

For added flexibility, four-bedroom Harbor View and two-bedroom Moorings are adjoining and can be rented as a six-bedroom, five-bathroom unit. In its entirety, the Grand Vermilion Chalet has 12 bedrooms, plus two loft bedrooms, and has beds for up to 34 people. Maximum capacity of 38 can be accommodated with the use of futons in each unit’s loft den.
CABIN POLICIES
SMOKING: Pehrson Lodge cabins and buildings are smoke-free. Smoking is limited to the outside, with proper disposal of all butts. Please do not throw butts on resort grounds Thank you for your cooperation.
CHECK-IN CHECK-OUT: Check-in at 4:00 PM and check-out 8:00 AM for weekly summer stays. Other stays, see your confirmation letter for specific arrival and departure times.
QUIET HOURS: In effect from 10pm-8am.
VISITORS: For the privacy and security of all resort guests, visitors must register at the Lodge. Numbers of guests will be limited at owner's discretion.
COMMUNICATION: Free WiFi internet in all units. Cellular phone signals are limited. Consider setting up WiFi assisted calling through your carrier before arrival, to accommodate mobile phone accessibility when inside your cabin/unit.
CANCELLATION: With early notification of at least 60 days prior to your arrival date, we will gladly refund your deposit, less a fee of $50 for each cabin/unit or 3.5% of the deposit paid, whichever is greater, if we are able to re-book your space with a new, like reservation. Or, if space is not rebooked, your deposit may be applied to a future stay. With notification less than 60 days prior to your arrival date, no refunds will apply. In the case of late notification, 30 days or fewer before your arrival date, full payment is owed. No refunds for early departures.
CABIN AMENITIES
Our 23 individual cabins and four townhouses of the Grand Vermilion Chalet provide our guests with the amenities you need to enjoy a comfortable, worry-free vacation.
Whatever cabin you choose for your group, you can expect:
- Air conditioning
- Wi-Fi
- Bathrooms with tubs and/or showers
- Hot and cold running water
- Gas or electric heat
- Kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, range, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, cookware, kitchen utensils and dinnerware. (Cardinal does not have dishwasher)
- Most have a gas or wood-burning fireplace
- Sundecks and charcoal barbecue grills
- Bed linens and towels with change of towels mid-week
- Paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, liquid dish soap, dishwasher detergent and bar soap
- Maid Service is not included, but is available for a fee.
Please consider packing:
- Food, including spices such as salt and pepper
- Beach towels, as cabin towels are not intended for beach use
- Charcoal and lighter fluid
- These items are also available for purchase on-site.
